The New Paltz Fire Department is actively seeking local men and women who want to serve their community. Below is a description of the process needed to become one of our members.

Upon submission of the application, you will be instructed to return on the first Monday of the month, where you will be interviewed by the membership committee. After the interview with the membership committee your application will be sent out for an arson background check. Once completed your application will be voted on by the company for membership. Once approved by the company the applicant will return on the first Monday of the month and will be given information on where to obtain the department physical. (Physical is free of charge). The applicant will then be placed under probationary status for a period of one year. All members MUST complete Firefighter I before obtaining interior status and coming off of probation.

Applications can be picked up at Station 1 at 25 Plattekill Ave on Monday evening between 6:30pm and 9pm or downloaded here and mailed in or dropped off in person to station 1.
